Darrell Harris

Darrell is currently employed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol as a Lieutenant in the Administrative Investigation Unit.  Darrell has been employed with the Patrol for 26 years and has served in the following positions:  Trooper in the Office of Criminal Investigations, Sergeant in the Criminal Intelligence Unit, Sergeant in Homeland Security, and Sergeant in License and Commercial Standards.

In 2001, Sergeant Harris was selected to be a Task Force Officer on the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force where he stayed until 2006.

Darrell joined the NIAIA as a Regional Executive Committee member in 2012, and was awarded the Recruiter of the Year award in 2013.  He was elected 2nd Vice President of NIAIA in 2014, ascended to the office of 1st Vice President in 2015, and to President in 2016. 

Other items of interest:  Darrell has extensive experience in executive protection and was the supervisor in charge of J. Kenneth Blackwell’s gubernatorial campaign in 2006.   Darrell is also a Police Instructor and a Crisis Negotiator for the Patrol.
